Helping chart a path for a brighter future
For many Zambian children an education is not a right but a privilege. The government feels that a 7th grade education is adequate and any schooling past Grade 7 has to be paid for by the student. For most children in rural Zambia, this is not possible.
Zambian children are the same as children everywhere! They have the same hopes and dreams that all kids have. They want to be Doctors and Nurses, Accountants, Teachers Journalists, Mine Workers, and the list goes on and on.
The one major difference between Zambian children and our children here in the United States can be summed up in one word...opportunity.
For a Zambian child to attend Grade 8 through Grade 12, tests must be taken to determine if the child can go on to the next grade level. These tests, as well as attending school for Grades 8 through 12, are not free.
Your yearly sponsorship of $200 (or $16 per month) will provide everything one student needs to attend one full year of school. Your sponsorship covers:
I would like to introduce you to Mirriam Kunda.
Mirriam Kunda is a personable, confident 18 year old young woman in the 9th Grade. She lives with her family in Chibaluma. She has 5 brothers and 3 sisters and is the 5th born.
Her favorite subject is Math and she, surprisingly, wants to be a Soldier and do Security. Once you meet Mirrian you can see she is determined and will be successful in her choice of careers.
Her favorite activities outside of school are football (soccer) and netball (similar to basketball).
In January of 2021 Mirriam, along with 59 other remarkable students, will be in need of sponsorship. Your donation of $200 (or $16 per month) will ensure that Mirriam or another deserving student, gets another year closer to reaching their goal and changing their future.
