Statistics
- The mortality rate of children under the age of 5 is 591 per 100,000 live births (according to UNICEF)
- Approximately 45% of children under the age of 5 are malnourished
- 25 new cases of HIV infections occur EACH DAY
- Major causes of death for children under 5 are respiratory infections, diarrhea, malnutrition, anemia and malaria.
Call to Action
Our medical mission teams are determined to combat the above statistics by providing initial screening and basic healthcare to vulnerable children. We provide immediate treatment for life-threatening upper respiratory infections, diarrhea, wound care, etc.
We identify those children who are at risk for malnutrition, HIV, malaria, and other serious ailments and refer them to local healthcare services to ensure they receive the followup and additional services and care they need.
